We used to do exactly the same thing Alan, on our way home from Christ Church school.
Surprised they held our weight. From what I can remember they were rusted almost right the way through.

I remember the toilet well,it had two iron bars attached to the bridge wall and then attached to toilet walls,we used to swing from the bars like monkeys .or playing Tarzan L.O.L.the daft things you do when your kids.
